Tepsichore, the muse of Dance, officiates over this year's Le Salon and the understated beauty of Villa Bologna in Attard provides the Baroque backdrop to a celebration of underground (literally) theatre, tango, poetry and prose all inspired by movement and harmony.

This Salon is a voyage of discovery, it dances the song of creation, the joyful manifestation of life, the lamentation of love lost and then regained, narcissus drowned and the selfless self rebirthed.

Held at both regular and alternative venues, with different themes and events , Le Salon/Is-Salott, aims to revive the great tradition of the 18 and 19th century Italian and French open salons. An intimate and animated cafe on the move if you like, encouraging social interaction, and the meeting and exchange of ideas, concepts and artistic expression.

Join us for an afternoon with like-minded people - Le Salon events always take a life of their own and surprises are sure to be sprung, as connections are established and nurtured.

PRICE (20 Euros) includes:

1. Entrance to the time-warped charm of Villa Bologna Gardens (normally 6 Euros), and the villa itself (usually off limits to visitors).

2. Unique Theatre piece scripted for the occasion by Miriam Calleja, and acted by Alba Florian Viton and David Chircop with treatment/performance text by Warren Bugeja, part staged in the 1940's war shelter.

3. Free Tango Beginners Class facilitated by Argentine Tango with Nathalie in the parquet Marquee in the middle of the gardens

4. Salsa Class, Bachata and Rueda facilitated by Edward Camilleri

5, Belly Dancing by Reine Morales Kabban

6. Flamenco by Alegria Academia

7. Photo exhibition on dance with Aldo Cauchi Savona, Kurt Paris and others

8. Scrumptious HIGH TEA inspired by movement, fluidity and yes dance! by Spice Kitchen
https://www.facebook.com/spicekitchengoddess?fref=ts

9. Le Salon proper: A discussion and 'show and tell' in the Villa's grand and evocative living room where everyone gets a chance to take centre stage and share of themselves.

Le Salon is a participatory event. It is what you contribute to each event that makes it a success. Please do tag along, an idea, a thought you would like to share, a discussion or debate you would like to instigate, a ditty, a high-land jig, a piece of music, poem, a tract, a short story, an infatuation, a love letter to yourself, a painting of your own, or by someone who has touched your soul.

The theme this time is DANCE - in case you haven't got it yet! (dance in ... happiness, misery, love, connecting, communicating, discovering.. use your imagination)
